No more Malaysia... The fact is only North Borneo (Sabah) and Sarawak... Independent Countries...!

Part 1

Insulting the people by denying poverty

By Daniel John Jambun
Of all the many current issues being debated in the media, Najib’s ‘assurance’ during his recent visit to Sabah that the state is no longer the poorest in Malaysia is the one that currently hitting the most sensitive nerves among Sabahans.

While the statement was supported by local BN leaders, the opposition leaders have expressed shock at the Najib’s statement. People on the ground are scornful and believe it is all a desperate political spin to give a positive impact for Najib’s visit to Sabah prior to the general election.

According to Najib, “per capita income in the East Malaysian state has crept past Kelantan and was almost on par with the national average” with the number of households categorised as hardcore poor has been reduced to 7,000 now, down from 30,000 previously, without any mention of exact time period. "Sabah is now a state with so much potential," he observed.

Petronas should repay PTPN study loans by Sabahans, demands new NGO

KOTA KINABALU: A new citizen movement that has demanded that oil royalty for Sabah should be at least 70 percent, Oil for Future Movement (OFF), now wants state-owned Petronas to repay all study loans from PTPN (National Higher Education Fund Corporation) by Sabahan students.

OFF chairman, Phillip Among, said thousands from Sabah who had loaned study aids from the government-controlled PTPN have become victims instead of the scheme when they could not find jobs for courses taken under the PTPN loan.

"We have yet to determine how many exactly Sabahan students fell victims but in every districts that i went, there were parents and students who complained to us. Some of the PTPN loanees have been barred from leaving Malaysia because of their defaulted loan repayment.

Who Damaged Sabah - is the culprit?

Lest we forget: Electoral guidelines when voting wisely.

Pairin called for the election in February after the courts fined him M$1,800 for corruption, just short of M$2000, the amount which would mean legal disqualification from the chief ministership. Amonth earlier, Jeffrey Kitingan had been released after two years' detention.

The PBS campaigned on the theme 'Sabah for the Sabahans' and Kadazan-Dusun nationalism. It argued that a BN victory would lead to 'colonisation' by Kuala Lumpur. The issue of state rights centred on the 'Twenty Points', signed in 1963, which had stipulated Sabah's (and Sarawak) rights and privileges under the proposed Malaysian federation. According to PBS, many of the Twenty Points, which include guarantees for state autonomy over immigration, education and religion, have been routinely violated or curtailed completely by the Federal government. The chauvinistic elements in PBS asserted that if the Kadazan did not vote PBS, the chief minister's post would go to a non-Kadazan with the result that the Kadazan and NMB community would be discriminated against, as the Mustapha and Harris administrations had been. Pairin's corruption charges were portrayed as political vendetta by the federal BN authorities against the Kadazan community; a serious indictment given that Pairin was the Huguan Siou (paramount chief) of the Kadazan. PBS also demanded an increase in petroleum royalties from 5 percent to15 percent, the setting up of a university, a separate TV station for Sabah and the return of the island of Labuan.

Some groups in Sabah and Sarawak are not happy with Malaysia

According to the UN Nation Cobbold Commission only 30% of the people in Sarawak and Sabah supported ” Malaysia then “. Why did Sarawak and Sabah joined Malaysia then and over the years , being colonized by Kuala Lumpur .

One would have thought that after 47 years this in a done deal and there are  not an issue . All this time Malaysia has been ruled by UMNO . UMNO policies and practices have created a lot of resentment among the people of Sarawak and Sabah  . Will the Federation of Malaysia become an election issue in the coming State Election in Sarawak and for Malaysia in the months to come ?

Today we will quote from a report on “  a closed door forum, ‘Formation of Malaysia, a Promise Revisited and the Way Forward’, in Kota Kinabalu over the weekend.

The forum was organised by the Borneo Heritage Foundation (BHF) in association with the Common Interest Group Malaysia (CigMa), an ad hoc apolitical movement dedicated to “reversing the recolonisation of Sabah and Sarawak”

Nearly 47 years after the formation of Malaysia, former Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) vice-chairperson Simon Sipaun is convinced more than ever that he was right to have opposed, from the very beginning, the idea of Sabah being in the new federation.

“Even if joining Malaysia was the right thing to do, it came at least ten years too early for us,” Sipaun told 500-odd participants at a closed door forum, ‘Formation of Malaysia, a Promise Revisited and the Way Forward’, in Kota Kinabalu over the weekend.

The forum was organised by the Borneo Heritage Foundation (BHF) in association with the Common Interest Group Malaysia (CigMa), an ad hoc apolitical movement dedicated to “reversing the recolonisation of Sabah and Sarawak”.

azlanSipaun felt, back in 1962 as now, that the British should have stayed on for another ten years at least. Alternatively, Sabah should have been independent first for a similar period of time before considering, if at all, Malaysia as an option.

He recalled his fervent opposition.
He was 25 years old at that time but didn’t hesitate to make his views known to Donald Stephens, the Huguansiou (paramount chief) of the KadazanDusunMurut.

KEJAYAAN MALAYA, KEHANCURAN SABAH
